That’s a new one. I’m pretty sure there is nothing on federal taxes, and what I know of MA and RI you can’t, so I’d have to say no, not likely. That stinks, where was your car parked? If you rent, or where somewhere else, maybe you can go after the owners of where you were parked.
1) Casualties and Thefts are an “Itemized Deduction”. If you do not have enough deductions to itemize, the deduction won’t help you.
2) Casualties and Thefts are first reduced by 10% of your income plus $100. For most people, this eliminates all but the largest Casualties and Thefts.
Sure, if you’ve got enough items for deductions that can be itemized, then you can claim a loss. But if you’re like most people, you’re further ahead by taking a standard deduction on your taxes.

No. Even catastrophic disasters (earthquakes, fire) etc are limited in what you can deduct.
No you can’t claim vandalism for a personal car. If it is a business car and used business you can claim a portion for the expenses to repair.
If it was vandalized during an Natural Disaster there is a place that you can claim a portion for that but you have to have proof of Natural Disaster.
Yes…..but…..(there is always a “but” with taxes)
