The best time to try it is now when there is a known problem with the Wii’s lens. Chances are if you send it in under the assumption that the lens is bad, they might just fix that problem and not even look for anything else.
they will repair it but it will cost you. phone the place up and see how much it would cost depending what the problem is it could cost a lot. i would go to some other places and phone them up to see how much it will cost. depending on what the problem is you might be better off buying a new one. if they repair was 80$ or less to repair it i would buy a new one the reason it because they might do a bad job at repairing the item.
Most likely it will cost you something.
I do wonder, why didn’t you call Nintendo instead of asking us?
I doubt it will be free because you have voided your warranty.
I also want to tell you, SSBB comes with an update. It’s an update that’s only found on the disk, you can not download, you should research whether or not this update will brick your Wii.
The warranty only means the store won’t replace your item if it gets damaged by system fault, and not if you poured water over it or something. When you void your warrenty, the store just can’t replace it.
Nintendo don’t want anything to do with your Wii if you have chipped it. They won’t fix it because they will believe that the damage came from the chipping so they will ignore it and send back your Wii to you.
the cost of getting it fixed and sending it well mabey you could consider if it would be better to buy a new wii if it costs to much or close to the price of an new wii.
They will still repair it for you but at the same time you might want to consider how much it would cost.
