Contact apple with your problem and if they think they might cover it, you can send it in for a repair of replacement. This might have been caused by extreme heat.
These devices are so delicate they are prone to “impact damage” even without dropping it.
Unfortuatly, Apple dont cover this under warranty ad it is not the only problem. They suffer badly from connectivity problems and also battery problems are a huge problem aswell.
Being an ex-employee of the UKs biggest electrical retailer for over 6 years, i would strongly advise againt purchasing another apple Ipod. I say this not only because of there poor workmanship but also there poor customer support due to the popularity of there product, they dont seem to worry about individual needs.
Creative Zen products look great, better built and have a better aftersales process (straight exchange in most places) so i would advise one of these for your next purchase. Failing that, my personal Mp3 player is a Sony Walkman.
If you absalutly insist on purchasing another Apple product my best advice to you is read the retailers T&C’S on extended warrantys and purchase one of those too, a great investment on an IPOD!
yeah sorry to here that heat could have caused it but if it is all black of one colour and not dark and black patchy then it could be a software fault ive had two this one seems a good one try the itunes repair button to reset it to blank again if its new u should be in for a replacement got the recept, if so u should try to sort it or take it back for a refund or replacement.

I just came across a site that sends you an iPod for free! I’m ordering mine right now, going for the black one
If you have to get another one this site cost what the stores pay
