    its based on blue book value of the car. If the car is worth 8,000 and the damage is estimated above that then they total the car.

    you have to get a professional estimate from a bodyshop or insurance company..there is really no way to ballpark it…good luck.

    Was it repaired last time? If so, it will have no bearing on this accident. “Diminished value” is something perceived, not something real. If something is fixed just like it was before an accident, how can there be diminished value?

    But, back to your question. Only the insurance adjuster can say with any certainty if your car it totaled, so you will just have to wait for them to look and make that determination.
