So I have a Macbook (without) Apple care. And i would like to know how much it would cost to have it repaired or if i would be better off buying the new one??

    alot of places give free estimates, ask bestbuy/geeksquad.

    Stay far away from the bumbling stooges at Best Buy and Geek Squad. Your best bet would be to find a shop that sells used laptops (including Apple, probably) and inquire about their services. It should cost more than $75 – $100 to open the MacBook and replace the drive. You could also just walk into an Apple store and get it fixed, which is the best, and most expensive option. You don’t need a new one, that would be a waste (unless its a really old one and you wanted to upgrade anyway – then you could just sell it on eBay, describing the problem, and getting up to half the value of a new MacBook for it, depending on your configuration.)
