    There is a thin layer of glass in the LCD which has shattered you will have to replace the entire LCD.

    Try sending it to toshiba, they may replace the LCD if its still under warranty. Looks like your roommate has some explaining to do, lol.

    oh…nothing would be more upsetting….
    my toshiba laptop screen starting to get line vertical one by one over the weeks it ended up with about 40 diff colored lines all over the screen…i had a quote for a 17 inch screen it was between 700 and 900….
    i went out and bought a new laptop….this time i bought HP…
    sometimes it can be the ribbon inside get it checked first see what they say

    If you have the budget. why hesitate replacing it. At the first place its four your own conveniece. It would be best if you have the best LCD along side woth you while working. You can obtain one here
