to fix it? It’s been smashed and scattered into hundreds of pieces, so it’ll take someone who knows what they’re doing…

Alright, so first some background on my computer. It’s about 3 years old, a Dell Dimension 9200 with 6 GB of RAM. And about two years into having it, my CD Burner (my bottom CD tray) stopped opening and whenever I booted it up it would say I something along the lines of “Driver 2 not found” or something. So I phoned Dell support and the man told me I had to pay them $50 for them to TELL me how to fix it. So I told them no, as I was strapped for cash at the time. Then a couple of days later it started working fine again, and me not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth thought nothing of it.

So today I wanted to burn a CD, it had 20 songs and about 1.2 hours of audio. I’ve burned CD’s fine like that before (I use iTunes). So it burned and said it had burned properly, and then I went to listen to it and the first song sounded like absolute crap, like it was being played on at 1 KPS and on a CD player that had been smashed by a hammer, so I went down a couple of songs and they wouldn’t even play. Then I tried ejecting the CD and hit the open button on the disk tray, but it was unresponsive. I then used a bent paper-clip to hit the manual open so it forced it to pop out, and grabbed the disk as quick as I could. Then the drive made a horrendous whirring noise and shut. Now when I try to open it with the button it does nothing, and with the manual open it’ll open like half a CM and then close immediately. And I had just burned a CD of 18 songs and 1.2 hours of audio fine the day before, it worked perfectly then.

So does anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this? Or is my burner fubar’d? And if so does anyone have any estimations on how much it would cost to get it repaired/where to get it repaired?

Thanks!

I was at work and i parked my car with the car topper lit, (as requested by my employer) after parking and locking my car and walking into the shop a total of five minutes to get rerouted i came out to see my window was smashed in and my gps was stolen. my boss mentions as we were filling out the police report that this has happened 4-5 times before with pizza drivers being robbed. the area is not terribly well lit and there are no security cameras I was unaware they had previous break ins. as a driver i dont make much let alone to pay for the cost of the repairs and replacing the gps. when I confronted my boss he feels like its not their responsibility to pay for my damages and losses. I feel as if im being more robbed by my own company because they did nothing to prevent further loss. my store is in a plaza but i feel it should be under an insurance claim of the pizzeria, god forbid i go out and get attacked again this time to my person, im aware we are not permitted to carry a weapon, is the company liable under nys common law or Respondeat Superior. seeing as how im representing them on their time in their plaza ???

my LCD got smashed in half a month ago, i havent had the chance to fix it. I had it checked, and cost a whole lot to get it fixed, i couldnt trust what the girl was saying to me, so i didnt get it repaired there. i want to know if the blinking of my phone’s screen really ISNT just the LCD. the girl said it might be an internal thing, but i didnt want to believe her cuz it cost so much, and she even told me that i should be better off buying a new phone. NO WAY IN HELL WILL I DO THAT! it was a new phone: Nokia 5300 to be exact, the rare-to-find grey one. i will not buy another one! please help.

I dropped my bag off the 15th floor-I guess you can picture what happened to the contents. If it had only been my stuff in the bag, just my mobile and wallet it wouldn’t have been an issue, but one of the girls had just put her camera, wallet and phone into my bag to hold. Basically everything is beyond repair; what are my responsibilities in this situation? I feel absolutely awful, but also strangely furious with her for giving them to me to hold. We’re not really friends, she had spent the week being really horrid to me, and just on the last day(when I smashed her belongings!!) decided to be nice. I’m so broke at the moment, I really can’t afford to reimburse her at all, and I won’t be able to until the summer holidays when I can work again. Why does this sort of thing always happen to me?!

I have had my Wii for about 2+ years (March 2007) so obviously my warrenty is overdue. Now, I called the Nintendo Help number and they said that I could have my Wii fixed for free because they can prove Super Smash Bros. Brawl broke it.

I have read at multiple places that the “old” Wiis have a bad laser for Brawl so the Wii just needs the new laser. Now seeing how I love Brawl much, I downloaded Homebrew. Now, before sending it, I don’t want them to think I did something so bad other than getting Brawl+.

So, is there anything that I could use (someone told me about AnyTitle Deleter) to erase everything that could be bad before sending it. I have taken everything off (everything = every game data that I could take off and all channels that I could take off) So the only things that remain are the disc channel, photo channel, news channel, weather channel, and wii shop channel. All the data that’s left are 4 games and they are the games SSBB, The Conduit, COD:WAW, and RB2.

Now I heard that the AnyTitle Deleter could delete anything I want, so I would have no idea what to do until I do it. So. hopefully you could help me with these questions:

1) How to get every trace of homebrew off my wii?
2) If Nintendo finds homebrew on there, will they not fix it or make me pay or something?
3) How long it could take for my wii to get repaired. Thanks.
