I just got my wii back from nintendo after I sent it in because I kept getting disc read errors on super smash bros brawl. When I got it back yesterday, I found out the game still didn’t work, I kept getting the errors. After trying and trying, I finally got it to load the game successfully a few times before it stopped working again. I would think that the actual disc is defective except I played it on my friend’s wii and it worked fine. So, what should I do?
What’s the problem, the wii or the disc?
Yeah I have a US copy of brawl and a US wii. And I did update the firmware.
I once tried to download homebrew channel a long time ago and couldn’t figure it out and I forgot all about it. I was playing (with a legal cd) Super Smash Bros when I got the infamous “error” message. Couldn’t clean it or get the disc reader to play any games at all, so I sent it into Nintendo for repair. They emailed me saying that since Homebrew was on it, they wouldn’t fix it and my only option is to buy a new Wii. Is this true? Is there anywhere I can take it to repair or any way to fix it at all? This really upsets me… Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have deleted the Homebrew channel and all compartments of it (that I could, anyway) but it seems Nintendo can still tell that I “tampered” with it
Also tried the Lens Cleaning Kit because of the reviews I have seen saying it resolved the issue…it didn’t work either
