    I’d repair it myself.

Then when I find I can’t get it back together again, I’d take the pieces to the tip.

I did run over a toaster one time that burned one piece of toast too many, and I threw a fax machine that messed up it’s last order off the deck to smithereens (it took twice to do a good job). Do those things count?

No, that’s wasteful and irresponsible, (although it would probably feel great after all that frustration) there are small amounts of mercury in those things and you don’t want to mess with that.

I’d turn it in for recycling and just get a new one. Those things so rarely work well once they’ve been repaired.

I’ve smashed a cell phone with a hammer. But the best time was a car stereo that kept eating my tapes. I put it in the driveway ans sprayed it with WD-40 so it would burn like crazy. Then I lit it on fire and watched it burn. Then I peed on it to put the fire out. Then I did it again.

But usually, I just replace the appliance with little or no ceremony.
